BowARC has a goal for membership ranging from youth and senior amateur radio operators. We intend to conduct monthly meetings, and serve the community in not only educating, but providing radio communication services to assist at public functions.
We intend to operate a commercially built Repeater that will serve the Bowmanville region (and beyond). The five year plan, our first year we plan to build club membership and build our infrastructure growth and several equipment installations to increase communication flexibility and experimentation in the area, the focus is on emergency communication and support for our the community and surrounding regions.
History of the Club
The inception of the Bowmanville Amateur Radio Club was with 2 amateurs HAM that found a need existed for communication support for the Municipality of Clarington, community of Bowmanville, Ontario Canada. The amateurs were; qrz VE3WZW Andre and others the year 2017.
